Manages special education programs, collaborating with principals, special and regular staff to ensure services are delivered in the least restrictive environment.
Develops, administers, and monitors special education budgets, ensuring effective utilization of funds.
Leads the development and implementation of the Local Education Agency Plan for special education in compliance with relevant legislation.
Organizes in-service training workshops for regular and special education personnel, promoting ongoing professional development.
Coordination and Compliance :
Coordinates with building principals on special education services, programs, and personnel supervision and evaluation.
Ensures the District's compliance with state and federal regulations related to special education.
Collects data for Child Identification, Child Count, and student progress evaluation.
Defines and improves the administrative structure of special education services in alignment with district goals.
Collaboration and Communication :
Collaborates with contracted services, ensuring effective coordination with external service providers.
Collaborates with the Administrative Team, contributing to the development of policies related to special education services.
Communicates information to the public and staff regarding special education services, objectives, and programs.
Personnel Management and Development :
Recruits, screens, and recommends the selection of special education personnel in collaboration with principals and the Superintendent.
Supervises and evaluates special education personnel workload and assignments in cooperation with administrators.
Leadership and Administration of PreK Programs Visionary leadership for the School District's PreK programs, overseeing curriculum development, staff supervision, and evaluation.
Collaborates with principals and educators to ensure the delivery of high-quality Essential Early Education (EEE) services, fostering an environment conducive to early childhood development.
Serves as the Local Education Agency (LEA) representative for evaluation and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Grant Management and Reporting :
Oversees IDEA-B grants and Medicaid, completing annual applications and evaluations, and recommending appropriate expenditures.
Provides reports as needed and ensures compliance with grant requirements.
